Gentle Draw is a CQC-registered independent healthcare service providing professional, person-centred blood collection and physical health support in homes, community settings and clinical environments.

Founded by a Registered Children's Nurse, Gentle Draw was created with a simple belief: accessing healthcare should not be made harder by anxiety, neurodiversity, additional needs, mobility difficulties or previous negative clinical experiences.

We provide flexible healthcare that can adapt to the individual, rather than expecting every individual to adapt to a traditional clinical environment.

More Than Mobile Blood Collection

Blood collection remains at the heart of Gentle Draw, but our service is developing to support a wider range of community-based physical health and clinical pathways.

We work with individuals, families, healthcare professionals and organisations to provide services that may include:

• Blood collection for adults and children aged 5+

• Home and community appointments

• Support for anxious and needle-phobic patients

• Neurodiversity and sensory-aware appointments

• Familiarisation and preparation visits where appropriate

• Physical health observations and measurements

• Developing additional physical health capabilities for agreed partner pathways

• Clinic and community-based service delivery

• Bespoke services for healthcare organisations and partner providers

Where investigations form part of another provider's clinical pathway, Gentle Draw works alongside the responsible healthcare professional or organisation, with clinical interpretation, diagnosis and ongoing treatment remaining with the appropriate clinician.

A Different Approach to Healthcare

For some people, a blood test or physical health check is straightforward.

For others, it can be a significant barrier to accessing the healthcare they need.

Busy waiting rooms, unfamiliar environments, sensory sensitivities, communication differences, previous traumatic experiences and fear of needles can all make routine healthcare extremely difficult.

Gentle Draw takes a different approach.

We allow more time. We listen. We prepare. We make reasonable adjustments. And wherever possible, we give the individual greater choice and control over how their appointment takes place.

For children and people with additional needs, sometimes the first goal isn't completing the procedure.

It may simply be building enough trust to make the next appointment possible.

Supporting Healthcare Providers

Gentle Draw also works with healthcare organisations, clinics and other providers that require flexible clinical support outside traditional healthcare environments.

Services can be delivered through home visits, community appointments or dedicated clinic sessions, depending on the needs of the organisation and the people using the service.

Our model is designed to be flexible and scalable, allowing services to be developed within defined geographical areas and expanded into additional regions where demand supports it.

This enables Gentle Draw to support both individual patients and organisations looking for a reliable, professionally governed partner to deliver elements of their healthcare pathway closer to home.

Our Aim

Whether that means taking a blood sample in someone's home, giving an anxious child additional time to prepare, supporting a neurodiverse person with reasonable adjustments, or working alongside another healthcare provider to bring a clinical service closer to its patients, Gentle Draw aims to make the experience safer, calmer and more accessible.
